Art Fair – Friday, August 10

The Great Lakes Children’s Museum will host its 10th Annual Children’s Art Fair in conjunction with Friday Night Live in downtown Traverse City on Friday, August 10. If you want to support a budding artist and entrepreneur in 1st through 8th grade, please join us at the east end of Friday Night Live (in front of the Chase Bank building) from 5:30 until 9:00 pm .

All types of artists have been accepted. We will have children displaying jewelry, photography, visual art, fiber arts, and even fly-fishing flies.

Expressing their creativity and learning business skills, the exhibitors have a great experience at the Children’s Art Fair. It’s also fun for the customers!

This event is made possible through the generous cooperation of the Downtown Traverse City Association.

I have two sons (10 & 6) who were so inspired by this event, that they have started creating a ‘business’ that they would like to promote items for @ next year’s event.

Is there a registration process that they will need to follow? May I have a bit more information as to how to go about getting them involved?

    Thank you!

We’re glad that your sons were inspired by the Children’s Art Fair. We don’t usually start registration for the Art Fair until the beginning of summer, after Friday Night Live puts out their calendar.

This is John. I’m the Executive Director at the Great Lakes Children’s Museum. I took this picture at the 2011 Children’s Art Fair on Friday, August 19.

There are a bunch more photos of that day on our Flickr page at:

I hope that you had fun and made lots of money from your art and painted rocks!
