Birthday Party at the Museum

Have your child's next birthday party at the Great Lakes Children's Museum and enjoy all the benefits of our interactive galleries, plus exclusive use of the Great Lakes Activity Room for treats, presents, and activites!

The minimum charge for birthday parties is $150 ($125 for members) for up to 25 people total. Each additional guest (up to 5) is $6. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance due on the day of the party.

Your special birthday party event lasts two hours (with an additional half hour for set-up) and includes: exclusive use of the Great Lakes Room, a package of invitations, a card stock photo frame for guests to sign, use of the Museum's lighthouse birthday chair and birthday banner, and use of the Museum's string pinata (you provide the contents).

The Museum provides tables and chairs, use of the refrigerator/freezer and assistance with set-up. Families provide their own table decorations, tableware and refreshments.

Times:* Tuesday–Saturday 10:00 AM –12:30 PM
                                            1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
                              Sunday   1:30 PM – 4:00 PM
*Provided the room is available

No parties on Funday Sundays
No parties on Friday mornings during school year
Reservations: Party planners are encouraged to schedule well in advance

Deposit may be paid over phone with credit card
Party is not confirmed until deposit is received

Attendees: 25 total
Additional guests are $6 each (5 additional guests maximum)
Total number of people may not exceed 30

Museum provides:
Exclusive use of the Great Lakes Activity Room for 2½ hours
Use of special lighthouse chair for birthday child
Use of Museum’s birthday banner
Package of invitations
Card stock photo frame
Use of string pinata
Use of refrigerator, freezer and sink
Staff arrangement of tables & chairs

Parent may provide:
Pre-prepared foods of choice
Table decorations & balloons
Games or activities within Great Lakes Room
Candy for string pinata

Nothing may be hung from the ceiling or taped to the walls
No plug-in appliances may be used
No party games or activities in galleries (Great Lakes Room only)
Parent responsible for clean up following party
Siblings waiting for invited guests must be supervised by an adult caregiver
