Discovery Center ~ Great Lakes

The Great Lakes Children's Museum is part of a collaborative and shared nonprofit facility, called Discovery Center ~ Great Lakes. Through the generosity of Rotary Camps & Services, it is provides a "campus" for nonprofit organizations with missions related to water and the Great Lakes. Current members are:

• Great Lakes Children's Museum
• Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay
• Maritime Heritage Alliance
• Traverse Area Community Sailing

The photo to the right shows the Museum, along with our workshop and on-site storage (red buildings). The Watershed Center's offices are in the blue house-like structure on the front of the property. The two buildings immediately behind the Watershed Center's office are workshops for the Maritime Heritage Alliance. The building furthest back (three big white doors) is shared boat storage. Traverse Area Community Sailing uses the site for storage.

For more information about the Discovery Center ~ Great Lakes, visit their website by clicking the link below. The goal is to continue to build the collaboration, so that will benefit all of the organizations, including the visitors to the Great Lakes Children's Museum.
