The Great Lakes Children’s Museum offers educational programs for children in preschool through grade 5. These programs have been carefully designed to coordinate with science and social studies curricula, and are based on state and national standards. A visit to the Museum gives students the opportunity to use what they know and to become more deeply engaged in independent learning in a fun and hands-on environment.
Leaders will receive a pre-visit packet with background information and a letter confirming the day, time, and cost of the scheduled visit.
Reservations are required, and a group rate is available for classes who book at least two weeks in advance of their visit.
Teachers and chaperones are admitted free. We recommend one adult for every six children. Siblings and additional adults pay $3.50/person.
Self-Guided Visit: $3.50/person for groups of 8 or more.
No Visits on Friday Mornings
We reserve Friday mornings for our special preschool drop-in programs such as Toddler Time. To ensure that the toddlers can freely explore the Museum, no study visits are scheduled at that time.
Schedule by Special Arrangement
Study visits can be arranged outside the regular times of Tuesday through Thursday from 9:30 to 3:00.
The Incredible Journey provides the best learning experience when the Museum is closed to other visitors. These visits can be scheduled at 9:00 am or on Mondays.
After-school programs, such as scout troops, can also be scheduled outside of the regular times. Call for alternate times.
